TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology senior Zac Erba has earned a spot on the Capital One NCAA Division III academic all-district seven men's track and field squad for his efforts in competition and in the classroom this season.
Erba was named one of 10 first-team academic all-district selections for his efforts on Rose-Hulman's squad that earned Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference indoor and outdoor championships this season. He caps a career that featured a role on nine Rose-Hulman conference championship teams (four in indoor track, four in outdoor track, one in football).
Erba advances to the Capital One national ballot, with the Academic All-America Team scheduled for release on June 23.
The biomedical engineering major enjoyed a standout senior season that included the Rose-Hulman Varsity R Club Award as the college's top senior athlete. He earned a conference championship in the hammer throw outdoors (169' 5") and earned second-team all-league honors for the indoor championship team.
Erba's efforts helped Rose-Hulman complete the season ranked No. 8 nationally in the USTFCCA dual meet rankings for the highest season ending ranking in Rose-Hulman history. He was also named second-team all-conference and third-team USACollegeFootball.org All-American for his efforts in football last fall.
