DEFIANCE, Ohio -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 4-4 overall and 3-3 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis play with an 8-1 victory over Defiance College on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Lauren Miller and junior Lauren Edwards led the performance by winning at No. 3 and No. 4 singles after teaming up for a victory at the No. 2 doubles flight.

Junior Becca Stanley duplicated the feat by winning at No. 5 singles and combining with Sydney Short for a victory at the No. 3 doubles flight.

Singles winners for Rose-Hulman also included Bella Evans at the No. 1 position; Linde Schaffer at the No. 2 spot; and Coco Liu at the No. 6 position.

Rose-Hulman stands 4-4 on the season and returns home to face Earlham College next Saturday.
