Men's Tennis Narrowly Falls to Wooster

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team narrowly dropped a 5-4 decision to the College of Wooster in the DePauw University Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

Rose-Hulman picked up two singles and two doubles victories in the performance.  Senior Matt Conrad won in three sets at the No. 4 singles position and at No. 2 doubles with Cam Metzger.  Junior Brandon Benedict added a three-set victory at the No. 1 singles position, while the team of Brendan Goldacker and Joe Kendall won 9-7 at No. 3 doubles.

The tightly contested match featured a No. 6 singles contest that reached a third-set tiebreak, captured by Wooster by a 7-3 count.

Rose-Hulman stands 1-2 on the season and will begin its six-match, three-day spring trip in Florida on Feb. 29.
