BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology seniors Regen Foote and Sam Gould each claimed three-meter College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin championships to lead five all-league performances at the conference diving championships on Friday and Saturday.
Gould completes his CCIW career with school records of eight all-conference performances, six conference championships and a career four-year sweep of three-meter championships after Saturday's title. Gould claimed his fourth CCIW three-meter championship with a total of 420.45 points on Saturday. He also placed third in one-meter diving for all-league accolades after scoring 393.50 points.
Foote completed the most decorated women's diving career in Rose-Hulman history with seven all-conference performances, including her first career CCIW title on the three-meter board on Friday night. Foote won the three-meter title with 371.45 points and earned another all-conference performance with 401.90 points on the one-meter board Saturday.
Senior Josh Maurer earned his fifth career all-conference performance with a third-place three-meter finish and 398.55 points on Saturday. Maurer earned all-league honors on the three-meter board during each of his four years at Rose-Hulman. He also placed fourth in Friday's one-meter competition with 381.75 points.
Every Rose-Hulman diver ended up finishing in the top eight on each board at this year's CCIW meet. Freshman Ben Strate was seventh on both the one-meter and three-meter boards, while freshman Joshua Schnipke came home sixth in the three-meter competition and eighth in one-meter.
Points scored in the CCIW Diving Championships will count toward the league swimming championships held Feb. 11-13 at Pleasant Prairie, Wis.
