ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's and women's track and field teams combined for four event wins, 12 top-three finishes and 22 top-five finishes at the Washington University Invitational on Friday.

The effort helped Rose-Hulman place second in the men's team scoring behind just host Washington University.  The women's squad finished seventh overall.

The men's squad picked up four event wins, including three field event wins.  Andrew Okruch captured the discus (155' 8") and was a runner-up in the shot put (46' 4 1/4") to lead the individual performances.

Other event winners included Eric Fiacable in the hammer (156' 11"); Josh Hennig in the 400 (49.33); and Josh Himes in the shot put (50' 9 1/4").

In addition to Okruch, three Rose-Hulman men's performers earned second-place finishes.  Tyler McCormick came home second in the 110-hurdles (16.22), Isaiah Smith was runner-up in the 400 hurdles (54.62), and Trey Sykes placed second in the triple jump (46' 4 3/4").

Third-place men's finishers included Nick Palmer in the pole vault (14' 11") and Ben Wewe in the javelin (164' 3").  Ava Paruleski and Gabi Razma led the women's individual finishes with third places in the javelin (102' 3") and triple jump (36' 5 3/4"), respectively.

Camille Blaisdell highlighted the fourth-place finishers with the second-fastest 3,000-meter steeplechase time in Rose-Hulman history (11:56.53).  Lucinda Combs added a fourth in the javelin (97' 2") and Debie Gedeon was fourth in the 100-hurdles (15.40).

On the men's side, fourth-place finishers included Josh Blome in the pole vault (13' 9 1/4"); Fiacable in the discus (140' 8"); Hennig in the 200 (22.45); Matt Hill in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:50.13); and the 4-x-100 relay team in 42.57 seconds.

The top-five efforts were rounded out by fifth-place finishes from Nic Keller in the hammer (147' 8") and Lucas Schulthies in the javelin (150' 0").
