FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 14-2 on the women's tennis season with a 5-4 win at Franklin College on Sunday afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers won their sixth straight match dating back to the fall season. Rose-Hulman will represent the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in the NCAA Division III Tournament this May after winning the league tournament last fall.
Rose-Hulman won four of the six singles matches to claim the victory. Winners included Bella Evans, Naomi Bhagat, Lauren Edwards and Becca Stanley at the No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 positions.
In doubles play, the team of Evans and Edwards picked up a No. 2 doubles win by an 8-4 count. The deciding match was at No. 5 singles, where Stanley won a third-set tiebreak 10-8 to claim the match.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at DePauw University on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
