TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology won 11 total events, and the men earn a convincing team victory over Franklin in the Senior Night home meet at the Sports and Recreation Center on Friday night.
The men's squad picked up a 147-77 team victory over the Grizzlies, while the Franklin women remained unbeaten on the season with a 154.5-61.5 team victory.
Rose-Hulman recorded nine men's and two women's victories on the night. The men's squad was led by two-event winner Cam Gill, who claimed top honors in the 100-backstroke (52.92) and 200-freestyle (1:45.88).
Other men's individual winners included Sean Gish in the 100-freestyle (49.00); Dutch Kipp in the 200-individual medley (1:57.83); Avery Krovetz in the 500-freestyle (4:54.62); Ethan Park in the 100-breaststroke (1:57.83); and Tyler Sariscsany in the 50-freestyle (22.36).
Rose-Hulman also won both men's relay events on the evening. The team of Ben Stone, Park, Michael Rosier and Sariscsany won the 200-medley relay in 1:38.50. The team of Kipp, Stone, Gish and Gill won the 400-freestyle relay in 3:13.03.
The women's squad picked up a pair of victories against the Franklin squad. Bethany Lefeber won the 100-butterfly with a mark of 1:01.43. Michelle Reese tied for top honors in one-meter diving with 263.70 points.
Rose-Hulman celebrated the achievements of their Senior Class of 12 prior to the meet. This year's group includes Kirk Dickson, Cam Gill, Patrick King, John Koopal, Avery Krovetz, Bethany Lefeber, Evan Meredith, John Rupp, Austin Salisbury, Tyler Sariscsany, Daniel Skiroock and Ben Stone.
Rose-Hulman and the city of Terre Haute will host the inaugural Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 9-11 at the Vigo County Aquatic Center, marking the first college conference championship meet in the new facility.
