ORLANDO, Fla. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology capped its annual Florida trip with a split of matches against Concordia-Moorhead and Mount St. Mary's on Wednesday at the USTA National Tennis Center.
In the opener, the Fightin' Engineers swept the six singles flights and won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles in an 8-1 victory over Concordia-Moorhead. Doubles winners included Ian Landwehr and Austin Perry at No. 1; Cam Metzger and Andre Adam at No. 2.
Singles winners included Landwehr, Metzger, Adam, Andrew Schiffman, Perry and Brendan Goldacker.
Against NCAA Division I Mount St. Mary's in the nightcap, Rose-Hulman picked up points in a 5-2 loss with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 singles. Landwehr won in straight sets with a 12-10 second-set tiebreaker at No. 1, while Adam rallied for a three-set win. The No. 2 doubles team of Metzger and Adam also picked up a victory.
Rose-Hulman stands 4-5 on the season and 4-1 against NCAA Division III competition. The Fightin' Engineers will face NCAA Division I Eastern Illinois on March 10 in Terre Haute.
