TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team remained undefeated in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play in 2018 following a convincing 9-0 win over Hanover College Saturday evening at the Wabash Valley Tennis Center.
The Fightin' Engineers jumped out 3-0 following doubles play and never looked back. Cam Metzger and Andre Adam notched an 8-4 win at the no. 1 doubles position. Ian Landwehr and Austin Perry picked up an 8-6 win at no. 2 doubles. Brendan Goldacker and Andrew Schiffman combined for an 8-4 win at no. 3 doubles.
On the singles side, Ian Landwehr continued his hot play, winning 6-1, 6-0 at no. 1 singles. Cam Metzger rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 victory at no. 2 singles. Andre Adam picked up a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the no. 3 singles flight. Andrew Schiffman added a 6-2, 6-3 victory at no. 4 singles. Sophomore Austin Perry had a strong performance at the no. 5 singles slot, winning 6-0, 6-2. Brendan Goldacker rounded out the Rose-Hulman win with a 6-0, 7-6 win at the sixth and final singles flight.
The win on Saturday moved RHIT to 10-7, 4-0 HCAC. The Fightin' Engineers will take on Millikin in non-conference action on Wednesday April 11.
