BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology recorded eight top 10 finishes at the Indiana University Billy Hayes Invitational on Friday in a meet featuring primarily NCAA Division I competition.
Nathan Schrader and Josh Hennig led the Fightin' Engineer performance with event wins. Schrader won the javelin with a mark of 177' 10", while Hennig won the 400-meter dash in 49.21 seconds.
Trey Sykes added perhaps the most impressive performance of the day to place second in the triple jump. Sykes recorded a mark of 48' 7 1/4" to rank No. 6 in all of NCAA Division III this season.
Third-place finishers included Josh Himes in the men's discus throw (163' 4") and Jaclyn Setina in the women's high jump (5' 5").
Eric Fiacable contributed two top 10 finishes, coming home fifth in the hammer (182' 3") and seventh in the discus (148' 3"). Jacob Back rounded out the top 10 efforts with a 10th in the 400-meter dash (51.37 seconds).
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Harrison Dillard Invitational at Baldwin Wallace next week.
