RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team completed a 2-0 weekend to start Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with an 8-1 victory at Earlham College on Sunday.
Rose-Hulman swept all three doubles matches to open the day. Anna Thompson and Naomi Bhagat picked up an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles; Fanny-Jane Banda and Kyla Jarvis won 8-2 at No. 2; and Beata Barati joined Krista Manche for an 8-5 win at No. 3.
In singles play, Rose-Hulman won five matches without losing a set. Winners included Bhagat at No. 2; Banda at No. 3; Jarvis at No. 4; Barati at No. 5; and Betsy Richardson at No. 6.
Rose-Hulman stands 2-0 on the season and travels to Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday.
