WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology combined for nine individual top 10 finishes at the Indiana Intercollegiate Meet at Purdue University on Saturday.
Facing a field of teams from multiple NCAA and NAIA divisions, the Fightin' Engineers placed fourth on the men's side and seventh in the women's competition.
Brendan King led the individual finishers with a third place in the men's 500-freestyle with a time of 4:52.98.
Fourth place finishers included Jared Brown in men's 50-freestyle (21.59) and Michaela Kivett in women's three-meter diving (160.20 points).
Shamus Sparling came home eighth in the 500-freestyle (5:01.95), and the duo of Derick Miller (52.11 in the 100-butterfly) and William Kemp (55.99 in the 100-backstroke) added ninth-place finishes.
Rounding out the top 10 finishers were Colin Beach in the men's 500-freestyle (5:09.78), Dutch Kipp in the men's 50-freestyle (22.15) and Michelle Reese in women's 1-meter diving (178.10).
The relay teams were led by the men's 200-freestyle in fifth place (1:28.04).
The Rose-Hulman men travel to Wabash on Friday night, while the women head to Illinois Wesleyan next Saturday.
