Three School Records Fall in Strong Afternoon at DePauw

GREENCASTLE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology set three school records and won eight total events in a strong performance at the 13-team DePauw University Track and Field Invitational on Saturday.

School record performances were set by Eric Fiacable in the men's weight throw (58' 10"); Lauren London in the women's 60-meter dash (8.09 seconds); and Kally Morozin in the women's 1,000-meter run (3:13.60).

Fiacable and London brought home two event victories each on Saturday.  Fiacable swept the weight throw and the shot put (48' 10").  London won both the 60-meter dash (8.09) and the triple jump with the second-best mark in school history (36' 3 1/2").

Other event winners included Aaron Lannoy in the 1,000-meter run (2:33.91); Nick Palmer in the pole vault (15' 3 3/4"); Matthew Stevenot in the mile (425.35); and Noah Thomas in the 60-meter dash (7.05 seconds).

Morozin led four women's runner-up performances with her school record 1,000-meter effort.  Other second-place women's finishers included Clare Bruns in the 400-meter dash (1:04.13); Tina Rogers in the 200-meter dash (27.22); and Dara Smith in the high jump (5' 0 1/4").

On the men's side, Rose-Hulman had a pair of second-place finishers.  Noah Heckenlively was runner-up in the 1,000-meter run (2:40.91), and Nathan Schrader came home second in the shot put (47' 7").

Schrader and Jessica Wells led the third-place performances with marks that rank No. 2 in Rose-Hulman history.  Schrader recorded a men's weight throw of 56' 3", while Wells completed the 1,000-meter run in a time of 3:15.27.

Other third-place finishers included Nolan Gross in the men's 1,000 (2:42.55); Anne Boxeth in the women's 600 (1:48.65); Lois Cheatham in the women's 400 (1:04.17); and Adekite Oladipupo in the women's 60 (8.15).

Wabash won the men's meet with 146 points, followed by Rose-Hulman with 128.5 points in a 13-team meet.  On the women's side, Hanover took home first place with 124.7 points.  Trine came in second at 114.4 and Rose-Hulman was third among 12 teams with 108.2 points.

The Fightin' Engineers will compete in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships at Defiance College next weekend.
