Bloomington, Ind. -- Eight members of the Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers track & field team traveled to Indiana University to compete in the Billy Hayes Invitational.
Nathan Schrader had an exceptional performance finishing first in the men's javelin with a mark of 188'. Also competing in the men's javelin, Jacob Sparks was able to record a 10th place finish with a mark of 142'3". Eric Fiacable competed in the hammer throw finishing fifth with a mark of 188'3", and the discus placing 12th with a mark of 148'11".
Noah Thomas was able to set a new school record in the 100-meter dash finishing seventh with a time of 10.86. He was also able to record the third fastest time in school history in the 200-meter dash, picking up a seventh place finish with a time of 22.02.
Jacob Back competed in the 400-meter dash with a time of 50.07 to earn an eighth place finish.
Nick Palmer and Cameron Prisby represented the Engineers in the men's pole vault. Palmer was able to record a 10th place finish clearing 15'1" and Prisby was able to clear 14'7.25" to pick up the 13th place finish.
In women's track and field competition, Dara Smith was able to place seventh clearing 5'2.25" in the high jump.
The track & field team will look to bring a select few athletes to their next scheduled meet which is the North Central Invitational on Thursday, 5/9 and Friday, 5/10.
