Men's Swimming & Diving Wins 16 Events in Senior Day Victory

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology swept all 16 event wins in a 207-45 men's swimming Senior Day victory over Hanover College on Saturday at the Sports and Recreation Center.

Prior to the meet, Rose-Hulman honored its five seniors that have contributed to top-two finishes in conference competition during every year of their Fightin' Engineer careers.  Seniors honored included Colby Horne, Dutch Kipp, Ethan Park, Zach Tate and Jimmy Zhang.

Five Fightin' Engineers won two individual events each to lead the team performance.  Logan McLaughlin swept the 100-backstroke (54.13) and 200-backstroke (2:00.44).  Derick Miller swept the 100-butterfly (52.71) and 200-butterfly (2:00.05).  Michael Nixon swept one-meter diving for five dives (120.75) and six dives (157.95).  Park won both the 100-breaststroke (1:01.99) and 200-breaststroke (2:17.83).  Evan Sellers added victories in the 200-freestyle (1:47.12) and the 500-freestyle (4:50.15).

Other individual winners for Rose-Hulman included Jared Brown in the 50-freestyle (21.99); Zach Eckstrom in the 1,000-freestyle (10:28.90), Tyler Sommer in the 100-freestyle (48.82) and Lane Wagner in the 200-individual medley (2:05.25).

Rose-Hulman also swept both relay event wins.  The 200-medley team of Ryan Nikolic, Miller, Brown and Kipp won in 1:38.31.  The 200-freestyle relay team of Kipp, Brendan King, Sommer and Brown won in 1:29.00.

The Fightin' Engineer men's swimming and diving team is scheduled to return to action next Saturday when they travel to DePauw University at noon.
