MATCH RESULTS
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Hanover College battled in a tight women's tennis contest before the visiting Panthers picked up a 5-4 victory in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams on Saturday.
Taylor Goldman led the Rose-Hulman effort with a 2-0 record on the day. Goldman won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and teamed with
Breanna Rogers for an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Other winners included
Ruby Kauffman by a 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-5) margin at No. 4 singles, and
Julia McGuire at No. 6 singles by a 6-2, 6-2 margin.
Hanover stands 1-1 and 1-0 in HCAC play, while Rose-Hulman dropped to 0-2 and 0-1. The Fightin' Engineers return to action at home on Sept. 22 against Anderson University.
