MEET RESULTS
LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's swimming and diving team finished the 2021-22 regular season with a 7-2 duel meet record after defeating Transylvania University 180-110 on Saturday.
The Fightin' Engineers won a total of 11 events at Transylvania, highlighted by three team members with two wins each.
John Dinkel swept 1-meter and 3-meter diving to help bolster the point total. Dinkel scored 220.15 points in 1-meter diving and 233.90 in 3-meter diving to sweep both first-place honors.
Vineet Ranade added a sweep of the two butterfly events. Ranade won the 100-butterfly in 52.91 seconds and added a victory in the 200-butterfly in 2:02.09.
Evan Sellers completed the multi-event winners by capturing top honors in two distance freestyle events. Sellers won both the 500 (4:59.97) and 1000 (10:15.20) freestyle on the day.
Other individual winners included
Nick Edwards in the 200-individual medley (2:01.43);
Derick Miller in the 200-breaststroe (2:22.50);
Caleb Munger in the 200-freestyle (1:48.75); and
Ryan Nikolic in the 100-backstroke (57.73).
The 200-freestyle relay team capped the meet with a winning time of 1:29.14.Â
Alex Ketcham, Ranade,
Sam West and Nikolic combined on the performance.
Rose-Hulman returns to action at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championships at the Vigo County Aquatic Center on Feb. 10-12.
