ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team capped its annual spring trip to Florida with an 8-1 victory over Mount Vernon Nazarene on Wednesday afternoon.
Rose-Hulman opened the day with all three victories in doubles play to take a 3-0 lead.Â
Joshua Giambattista and
Owen Reynolds won 8-4 at the No. 1 flight;
Mark Slaninka and
Grant Paradowski won 8-1 at the No. 2 flight; and
Rhian Seneviratne joined
Lawson McCloskey for an 8-7 (7-5) win at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, Giambattista, Slaninka, Reynolds, Paradowski and Seneviratne all won in straight sets at the top five singles positions to lead the victory.
Rose-Hulman improved to 3-5 on the season and returns to action at home on March 19 against Manchester and Ohio Northern in a doubleheader.
