ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's tennis team closed out their spring trip to Florida with an impressive 8-1 win over Albion. The Fightin' Engineers close out the trip 2-2 with a 2-1 record against Division III opponents.
The Fightin' Engineer started off the match strong as they swept all three doubles positions.
Wynne Aldrich and
Ella Dorfmueller took home an 8-4 win at No. 1.
Taylor Goldman and
Julia McGuire won 8-5 at No.2 doubles, and
Camille Clark and
Violet Keith finished off the sweep with an 8-4 win at No. 3.
In singles action, Rose-Hulman cruised to five singles wins. Goldman and Aldrich won at #1 and #2 singles while only dropping one game combined. Dorfmueller won the most competitive match at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-2.
At #5 singles, McGuire won 6-1, 6-1, and Keith finished off the sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #6.
Rose-Hulman got back over .500 at 7-6 with the 8-1 victory, while Albion drops to 2-6 on the season. The Fightin' Engineers will return to their home court on Saturday, March 4 as they host Greenville.
