CHICAGO, Ill. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology won at the top four singles flights to pick up a 5-4 men's tennis victory over Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sunday at XS Chicago.
Milwaukee School of Engineering won two of three doubles matches to take an early 2-1 lead.Â
Owen Reynolds and
Rhian Seneviratne won 8-5 to put the Engineers on the board at No. 1 doubles.
Rose-Hulman relied on wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 4 singles to tie the match score at 4-4. Reynolds won in straight sets at No. 1 singles; Seneviratne won in straight sets at No. 3; and
Andrew Leonard won 10-8 in a third set tiebreaker to knot the score at 4-4.
Grant Paradowski at No. 2 singles entered a third-set tiebreak to determine the match. Paradowski won the tiebreaker 10-4 to give Rose-Hulman the match clinching point.
The Fightin' Engineers improved to 5-4 on the season, while Milwaukee School of Engineering is now 3-8. The Fightin' Engineers travel to DePauw University on Thursday.
