JACKSONVILLE, Ill. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers women's tennis team began their Fall season traveling to compete in the Illinois College Tri-Match on Saturday. The team fell short in both matches against Anderson 9-0 and Illinois College 6-3. This drops the team to 0-2 to start the season.
Anderson was able to get the better of the young Rose-Hulman team in the first match of the day.
Cathrine Millwood and
Isha Mannan led the team in No. 3 doubles picking up wins in three games.
Emerson Donaldson had the best performance in singles. She came up short in her No. 2 singles match with a close score of 4-6, 5-7.
Rose-Hulman bounced back to put up a fight against Illinois College in the second match of the day. The No. 3 doubles team of
Nova Gladden and Millwood earned a win 6-1.
In singles competition, Donaldson earned a win in No. 2 singles 6-0, 6-3, and Gladden picked up a win in No. 5 singles 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Rose-Hulman women's tennis will return to action traveling to compete in the DePauw Invitational on Saturday, September 14, and Sunday, September 15.
