TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team hosted Berea and Wabash in a doubleheader on Saturday. The team split the doubleheader, defeating Berea in a shutout win 7-0 before falling to Wabash with a score of 6-1. This moves the team to 8-7 overall and 5-0 in the HCAC this season.
The Fightin' Engineers took care of business in their first match of the day against Berea. The team earned the doubles point with
Chris Lian and
Owen Reynolds winning at No. 1 doubles 6-1,
Grant Paradowski and
Andrew Leonard winning at No. 2 doubles 6-0, and
Ephraim Duthrie and
Renato Prado picking up the victory at No. 3 doubles 6-0.Â
The team continued to dominate in the singles competition, sweeping all six singles matches to claim the shutout win and remain undefeated in conference play.
The second match of the day against Wabash did not go in Rose-Hulman's favor. The Fightin' Engineers fell behind after losing the doubles point to start the match.Â
The team lost five of the six singles matches to suffer the loss to the Little Giants. Reynolds earned the team's lone victory at No. 3 singles.
Rose-Hulman men's tennis will return to action, hosting DePauw on Wednesday, April 2, at 5 PM.Â
