Women's Swimming & Diving Finish Second at HCAC Championships

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's swimming & diving team finished the HCAC Championships with a second-place finish. 

Rose-Hulman finished the week with two event wins and 10 top three finishes. 

The Fightin' Engineers started the week with a second-place finish on the first day of the championships in the 800 freestyle relay with a time of 8:03.53.

The team continued to thrive on the second day. Catherine Bath started the competition with an event win in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:10.60. Rose-Hulman also earned a top-three finish in the 200 freestyle relay, placing third with a time of 1:42.51.

Rose finished the second day with four more podium finishes in the 500 freestyle, 1-meter diving, 400-medley relay, and the 200 IM. 

Rose-Hulman maintained their second-place result on day three of the HCAC Championships. The team achieved three medal results, highlighted by Bath's second-place result in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:57.91.

Ritu Bharamaraddi added a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke with a time of 59.63. Bharamaraddi, Allison Kirk, Janey Leiker, and Avery Witt also accumulated a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:54.21.

The team totaled six more podium finishes to conclude the third day of the championship meet. 

Rose-Hulman finished strong on the final day of the meet. Rose earned four top-three finishes and 10 total podium finishes. 

Bath was an event winner in the 1650 freestyle with a time of 18:00.83. The 400 freestyle relay team of Leiker, Lilian Mahonski, Bath, and Witt picked up a second-place finish with a time of 3:41.37.

Other medalists included Witt, placing third in the 200 backstroke (2:09.70), and Leiker, placing third in the 100 freestyle (55.06). 

The Fightin' Engineers' second-place team finish in the HCAC Championships is their best finish in the league since the 2018-19 season. 

WOMEN'S RESULTS
All-HCAC honorees are decided based on finish. First Team is the 1st-place finishers, Second Team is the 2nd-place finishers, and Third Team is the 3rd-place finishers. The top seven student-athletes who compete in A-finals in each event earn a spot on the podium.
