GREENTOWN, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman women's tennis team earned an exciting win over IU-Kokomo with a final score of 4-3. This gives the team their first win of the 2025-26 season and puts the Fightin' Engineers at 1-2 overall on the year.
The team won two of the three doubles matches to earn the point in the doubles competition. The team was led by the No. 1 doubles team of
Lia Taylor and
Addie Patterson, picking up the win with a score of 6-2. The No. 3 doubles team of
Emerson Donaldson and
Nova Gladden also earned a victory with a score of 6-2.Â
Donaldson had another standout performance at No. 1 singles, defeating her opponent with scores of 6-3, 6-3.
Autumn Korey was another winner in No. 4 singles with scores of 6-3, 6-3.Â
IU-Kokomo put together wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 6 singles to tie the match at 3-3. It all came down to the matchup at No. 5 singles between Gladden and Molly Farkas.
Gladden won the first set 6-2, but Farkas bounced back to win the second set 6-4 to force the third set tiebreaker. Gladden pulled off the win with a score of 6-2 in the tiebreaker set to secure the Fightin' Engineers first win of the season.Â
The women's tennis team will look ahead to take on Hope College on Friday, February 13, at 2 PM. Â
