CARMEL, Ind. -- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced its weekly award winners for the sport of women's track & field. Jocelyn Onstot was named the HCAC Distance Athlete of the Week, and Narindwa Semakula earned HCAC Sprint/Hurdles Athlete of the Week.

The women's track & field team traveled to multiple meets this past week, including the Fairgrounds Invitational on Friday and the Keck Select Meet on Saturday.

Onstot led the distance team this week for the Fightin' Engineers with an impressive finish in the 3,000-meter run. The electrical engineering major placed sixth in the race with a time of 10:17.77 at the Keck Select Meet. This is a new season best for the Cary, Illinois, native and is the fastest time in the HCAC this year.

Semakula was a standout for the Fightin' Engineers at the Fairgrounds Invitational. The biomedical engineering major placed 15th in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.25. The New Brighton, Minnesota, native's time in the race is faster than anyone else in the conference and only trails her time from earlier this season in the Rose-Hulman Classic at 9.21.

This is the sixth HCAC Athlete of the Week Award for Semakula and her first time winning the award this season. For Onstot, this is her fifth career HCAC Athlete of the Week Award for track & field and her first of the season.

The women's track & field team will return to action this weekend. The team will travel individuals to compete in the Heartland Invite and the GVSU Big Meet on Friday, February 13, and the DePauw Invitational on Saturday, February 14.
