Men's Tennis Earns Exciting Win Over MSOE Raiders

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Fightin' Engineers men's tennis team picked up an exciting win over the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Wednesday night. The team defeated the Raiders with a final score of 4-3 to advance to 5-6 overall this season. 

The Fightin' Engineers took the lead after winning the doubles point. The No. 1 team of Chris Lian and Ervin Perkowski took care of business with a final score of 6-3. The No. 3 doubles team of Ephraim Guthrie and Andrew Leonard earned a win with a score of 7-5 to help seal the point in doubles competition. 

The match proved to be a close one, as both teams split the singles competition. Ephraim Guthrie stepped up to claim a victory at No. 2 singles, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. Renato Prado secured the win at the No. 5 singles spot with scores of 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. Perkowski was the hero, pulling out a hard-fought victory at No. 1 singles for the clinching point in the match with scores of 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Rose-Hulman will return to action this weekend, traveling to face Trine on Saturday, March 21, at 11 AM, then returning home to continue their conference schedule, hosting Franklin on Sunday, March 22, at 11 AM.
