ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team suffered a tough loss in a close match with a final score of 4-3. The loss drops the team to 1-5 overall on the year.
The Fightin' Engineers started off strong, sweeping the doubles competition to win the doubles point.
Chris Lian and
Tim Eckermann teamed up to earn a win at No. 1 doubles with a score of 6-3.
Eli McIntyre and
Ervin Perkowski followed that with a win at No. 2 doubles with a score of 6-1.
Joao Henrique Nossar and
Ephraim Guthrie completed the sweep at the No. 3 spot with a score of 6-4.
Concordia Wisconsin battled back to win the match after defeating Rose-Hulman in four of the six singles matches.
Eckermann won his match at No. 3 singles with scores of 6-2, 6-3. Guthrie earned the other singles win at the No. 5 spot with scores of 6-1, 6-1.
The Fightin' Engineers will continue their Florida trip with a doubleheader tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3, against Cedarville and Allegheny at 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
