CHICAGO, Ill. -- The Rose-Hulman men's tennis team fell short to Luther College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Tournament with a final score of 4-0.
This is the third consecutive year the Fightin' Engineers men's tennis team has made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Rose-Hulman fell behind after losing at No. 1 and 2 doubles to lose the doubles point. The No. 1 doubles team of
Tim Eckermann and
Chris Lian put up a fight, suffering the loss with a score of 6-3. The No. 2 team of
Eli McIntyre and
Ervin Perkowski also won a couple of games, losing to their opponents with a score of 6-2.
Luther closed out the win, picking up victories in three of the singles matches. The Norse picked up wins at the No. 1, 2, and 6 spots to defeat the Fightin' Engineers.
Joao Henrique Nossar fell to his opponent in the No. 1 spot with scores of 6-3, 6-3. Eckermann fell short in the No. 2 spot with scores of 6-2, 6-2.
Yuki Usuda represented the team at No. 6 singles, falling to his opponent with scores of 6-2, 6-3.
Rose-Hulman men's tennis wraps up their 2025-26 season with an overall record of 15-8.
