Keith Crawford enters his 18th year as men's and women's swimming and diving coach at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in the upcoming 2025-26 season. Crawford's program has taken major steps over the past decade, highlighted by eight conference championships and four runner-up finishes since 2014.
Crawford led the 2018 men's squad to the inaugural Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship, with a historic performance that included first-place finishes in all 20 events. The women's team also set a school record with a team second place finish at the 2018 HCAC championships, highlighted by four event wins.
Rose-Hulman has won five consecutive HCAC championships during the most recent 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 seasons.
The women's squad also earned its best overall conference finish since 2019 during the 2023 and 2024 HCAC championships, bring home third place overall.
Previously, Crawford led the 2015 and 2016 men's teams to College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Men's Swimming and Diving Championships, the first team conference titles in 26 years of the program.
Individually, Crawford has coached two swimmers to nine total All-American honors since 2014. Ellie Hong set Rose-Hulman's swimming school record with six career All-American honors, highlighted by a 4th-place national finish in the 200-backstroke in 2016. Orion Martin claimed three All-American awards prior to graduating in 2016.
Crawford has earned a total of six Conference Coach of the Year honors in the HCAC, CCIW and Midwest Conference during his career.
Crawford, the fourth head coach in program history, came to Rose-Hulman after five years as head coach at Monmouth College in Illinois. He earned Men's Coach of the Year honors in the Midwest Conference in 2007 and 2008 after leading the team to second-place finishes.
In 2009, 2010 and 2011, Crawford helped lead Rose-Hulman to a strong third-place men's finishes in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships. In 2012, junior Matt Ross was named Outstanding Performer of the Meet to lead a Rose-Hulman effort that featured six school records, two individual conference titles, two NCAA provisional national qualification marks and five all-conference performances.
Crawford has coached a total of 91 individual and relay conference champions, while having teams recognized for their academic accomplishments by the College Swimming Coaches Association during his coaching career.
Prior to his time at Monmouth, Crawford earned a bachelor's degree in history with a secondary education minor from Xavier University in 2001. He also completed a master's degree in recreation and sport management at Indiana State University in 2003, while serving as an assistant coach at DePauw University.
