TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team travels to Franklin College for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) conference game slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
The Fighin' Engineers come into the game with a 7-3-3 record including a 2-0-1 mark in conference play after a scoreless draw with rival Transylvania Saturday. The game against the Pioneers marked the fourth consecutive game the two teams have gone into double overtime.
Rose-Hulman has surrendered just eight goals through 11 games this season. Senior goalkeeper Drew Miller has notched 46 saves along with seven of his career 28 shutouts thus far this season. The Engineer back line of senior Andrew Bartush, junior Mike Smyser, sophomore Nick Kowalkowski, and sophomore Brad Rostron has been stable as the unit has started 12 of the Engineers' 13 games.
Offensively, sophomore Ben Lyon has scored five goals this season including Rose-Hulman's first four as a team. Two other Engineers have found the back of the net twice.
Franklin comes into the game with a 5-4-2 record including a 2-0-1 mark in HCAC play. The Grizzles most recently battled to a scoreless draw with Defiance last Saturday.
Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with Franklin 22-1-1. The Engineers have won the previous three meetings with Franklin's lone victory coming in 2003.
After the game with Franklin, the Engineers travel to Manchester Saturday, Oct. 18 for a game scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
