BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology volleyball team saw its four-game Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) win streak snapped Saturday, Oct. 25, with a four-set loss to Bluffton University. The Fightin' Engineers fell by scores of 25-23, 25-22, 19-25, 25-13.
Junior Sarah Jensen, sophomore Morgan Dreyer, and sophomore Emily McLendon all finishing in double figures in kills with 15,12, and 11 respectively. In addition, Jensen and Dreyer each dished out over 20 assists with Dreyer totaling 23 assists and Jensen totaling 20.
Defensively, freshman libero Gabi Razma led the way with 26 digs. Freshman Becca Poppel totaled 13. Dreyer and McLendon led Rose-Hulman's blocking efforts. Both sophomores totaled four block assists with Dreyer adding a solo block.
Rose-Hulman stands at 13-15 on the season including a 4-3 mark in HCAC play. Rose-Hulman has a quick turnaround and will play at Defiance tomorrow (Sunday), Oct. 26. The match is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
