Men's Soccer to Host Anderson Wednesday

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's soccer team hosts Anderson University in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) game slated to begin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

The game carries major implications within the conference. The Fightin' Engineers can clinch a home game in the conference tournament with a win against the Ravens.

Rose-Hulman went 1-1 last week, falling to Earlham 2-1 on Wednesday and defeating Hanover on the road 1-0 on Saturday. In the victory over the Panthers of Hanover, freshman Turner Perkins scored his second goal of the season to lift the Engineers to victory.

Sophomore Ben Lyon leads Rose-Hulman offensively with seven goals and 14 points. In addition, the Westfield native scored Rose-Hulman's first four goals of the season. Junior Dieter Schultz leads the team with five assists.

Defensively, Rose-Hulman has allowed just 10 goals in 17 games. Senior goalkeeper Drew Miller has totaled 56 saves on the season for a .848 save percentage. Along with the Engineer defense, Miller has surrendered just 10 goals in 17 games, ranking him No. 23 in NCAA III Men's Soccer in goals against average (.562). Miller has totaled 10 shutouts this season adding to his program-high 32 career shutouts.

Anderson enters the game with a 10-6-1 record including a 4-2-1 conference mark. The Ravens won their last two games 3-0, defeating Manchester and Franklin last week.

Rose-Hulman leads the all-time series with Anderson 17-10-1. The Engineers won the meeting last year, 2-1. Anderson last won in the HCAC Tournament in 2012.

 After the game with Anderson, Rose-Hulman will play its final regular season game Saturday, Nov. 1. The game is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m.
