FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology women's soccer team saw its season come to an end Tuesday, Nov. 4, with a 2-0 loss at Franklin College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Tournament semifinal game.
Franklin scored the game's first goal six minutes into the contest off of a corner kick. The Grizzlies would add another goal early in the second half.
Rose-Hulman's best chance to score came in the 32nd minute. Junior Katie Maier fired a shot from the top of the box that rattled off of the crossbar.
The Engineers tallied four shots in the contest compared to 14 for Franklin. Junior goalkeeper Lucinda Combs tallied eight saves in the contest, bringing her season total to 117.
The senior class of Mackenzie Christensen, Becca Evans, Margaret Murphy, Haley O'Neil, and Sam Peters end their soccer careers with a 36-30-9 record including a 17-15-4 mark in HCAC play.
Rose-Hulman notched 12 wins during the season, tied for second-best in program history. The Engineers also qualified for their second consecutive HCAC Tournament under head coach Amy Helliwell.
