Season High Offensive Output Leads RHIT to Victory

FRANKLIN, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed four players in double figures and won for the eighth time in its last nine games with an 81-60 men's basketball victory at Franklin College on Wednesday night.

Sophomore Collin Wojcik led the Fightin' Engineers with a season-high 19 points on 8-12 from the field.  Senior Corey Povaleri added a career-high 18 points on 6-7 from the field and 5-5 on the foul line.

Junior Dillon Reynolds reached double figures for the first time in his career with 11 points.  Junior Tyler Duffy rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points on 5-8 from the field.

Aaron Mann led the Franklin offensive attack with 17 points.  Robbie Prather added 13 points for the Grizzlies, and John Beineke reached double figures with 11 points.

Rose-Hulman's 81 points marked the most in a game this season, and the Fightin' Engineers shooting percentage of 61% was the highest for the squad since a win at Manchester last February.

Other key contributors for the Fightin' Engineers included junior Matt Loesing with seven points; junior Mitch Williams with six points; junior Jimmy Miller with four points, seven rebounds and four assists; and sophomore Wade Stallings with four points and six rebounds.

The Fightin' Engineers jumped out to a 48-25 lead at halftime by shooting 68% from the floor and relying on 13 points from Povaleri in the opening 20 minutes.  The lead stayed comfortably in double digits during the second half.

Rose-Hulman improved to 9-5 on the season and 5-2 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, while Franklin dropped to 3-11 and 2-5 in league games.  The Fightin' Engineers travel to Mount St. Joseph in another conference matchup on Saturday.
