TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hosts Defiance College in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball matchup on Saturday at 5 p.m. at Hulbert Arena for the Fightin' Engineers Senior Day.
The Fightin' Engineers will honor two seniors prior to their final home match on Saturday.
Kali Nordquist has played 77 matches in her career at Rose-Hulman with twenty assists to add to her career total. Sarah Jensen has played in 115 matches and has tallied 889 kills in her career at Rose-Hulman. Jensen also totals 2,05 assists and 1,075 digs for her career with the Fightin' Engineers.
The Fightin' Engineers enters Saturday's match with an 112-16 record, while Defiance is 9-16 and 4-2 in league play. Rose-Hulman fell to Hanover at Hulbert Arena on Saturday night in three sets.
Freshman Julia Hammond and freshman Bailey MacInnis lead the Fightin' Engineers with 218 kills and 178 kills, respectively. Sophomoer Becca Poppel has added 151 kills.
Senior Sarah Jensen (449) and freshman Marissa Gollnick (347) have led the squad in assists, while sophomore Gabi Razma ranks among the NCAA Division III national leaders in digs (600) and digs per set (5.71).
The blocking effort has been led by junior Emily McLendon (91) and sophomore Mackenzie Gossard (78). Gossard also has a team-high 26 service aces.
After Saturday's match, Rose-Hulman returns to action with a trip to Anderson University on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
