LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology capped the 2015 volleyball season with a four-game winning streak after defeating Transylvania University 27-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-18 on Saturday afternoon.
The Fightin' Engineers completed the season at 15-16 and won four straight HCAC matches to finish in a tie for sixth place in the league standings. Rose-Hulman tied for the final spot in the HCAC Tournament bracket, but lost out for a postseason spot based on tiebreak scenarios.
Senior Sarah Jensen completed her historic career with 16 kills, 23 assists and 16 digs in her school record 23rd triple-double. Freshman Julia Hammond added 14 kills and 11 digs, and sophomore Becca Poppel reached double figures with 13 kills.
Sophomore Alison Rogozinski paced Rose-Hulman with 25 assists and two service aces. Sophomore Gabi Razma surpassed 700 digs on the season with 36 digs to lead the defensive effort. Jensen added six block assists, and junior Mackenzie Gossard had four.
Rose-Hulman finished 15-16 overall, while Transylvania completed the regular season at 16-9. The Fightin' Engineers defeated Earlham, Defiance, Anderson and Transylvania to cap the campaign on a four-match conference winning streak.
