TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and Transylvania University square off in a key Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's soccer matchup on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in Lexington.
Either the Fightin' Engineers or Pioneers have represented the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in the NCAA Division III Tournament for 12 consecutive years. Rose-Hulman enters Saturday's showdown with a 7-2-2 record, while Transylvania has a record of 5-2-4. Both teams are 2-0 in conference play.
Rose-Hulman defeated Defiance 4-0 and Mount St. Joseph 2-1 to open conference play last week. Alex Jansen and Austin Webb lead the offense with four goals each. The tandem of Carter Wright (4-1-2, 1.01 GAA) and Michael Lawrence (3-1, 0.87 GAA) have allowed just 11 goals in 11 matches this season.
After Saturday's match, Rose-Hulman returns home to face Franklin College on Wednesday night at the Intramural Field.
