Volleyball Team Heads to Ohio This Weekend

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology hits the road for two volleyball matches in Ohio this weekend.

The Fightin' Engineers stand 10-13 on the season entering Friday night's 7 p.m. matchup at Kenyon College. Rose-Hulman travels to Denison University on Saturday at 3 p.m. to cap the weekend.

Kenyon has a 6-8 record entering Friday night's match, while Denison is 7-8 overall prior to this weekend's action.

Freshman Julia Hammond (171), freshman Bailey MacInnis (156), sophomore Becca Poppel (118) and junior Emily McLendon (101) have passed 100 kills on the season for Rose-Hulman. Senior Sarah Jensen as a team-high 333 assists, followed by Marissa Gollnick with 304.

Sophomore Gabi Razma has tallied 488 digs (5.61 per set) to lead the defensive effort. Junior Emily McLendon (78) and sophomore Mackenzie Gossard (68) are one-two on the squad in blocks.

After this weekend's road trip, Rose-Hulman returns home for a matchup against Mount St. Joseph on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will feature a live video broadcast from wabashvalleysports.com.
