COMPLETE RESULTS
CHESTERTON, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology captured first-place honors in the men's competition on a day that featured nine event victories in a three-team meet held in Northwest Indiana.
Rose-Hulman defeated Carthage 208.5-90.5 and topped Albion 178-121 on the men's side to highlight the team scoring.
Senior Orion Martin led the men's effort with two individual and one relay victories. Martin won the 100-freestyle in 46.67 seconds and the 200-freestyle in 1:42.80. He also combined with Cam Gill, Paul Hintz and Pierce Bartine for a 400-freestyle relay victory in 3:10.85.
Gill also contributed a first-place performance in the 100-backstroke with a time of 53.04 seconds. Other men's winners included senior Matthew King in the 1,000 freestyle (10:05.63) and sophomore Patrick King in the 100-butterfly (1:56.84).
On the women's side, junior Ellie Hong won two events to pace the Fightin' Engineers. Hong won the 100-freestyle (55.90 seconds) and the 100-backstroke (59.34). Senior Regen Foote added a third event win with 167.11 points.
The women's team also had runner-up performances from Melissa Arbelaez in the 200-backstroke (2:15.45) and Lauren Blake in the 1,000-freestyle (11:39.81).
Rose-Hulman returns to action with a three-team meet featuring Wabash and Manchester in Crawfordsville on Saturday.
