TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Illinois Institute of Technology relied on a balanced scoring attack to earn an 83-78 men's basketball victory over Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on Thursday night at Hulbert Arena.
Anthony Mosley led the Scarlet Hawks with 25 points. Sam Rarick added 18 points and 10 rebounds, and Jake Digiorgio pitched in with 12 points and 11 rebounds for Illinois Tech.
Senior Matt Loesing led the Rose-Hulman offense with 25 points and eight rebounds. Senior Dillon Reynolds and freshman Charlie Aimone reached double figures with 14 points each.
Illinois Tech shot 58% from the field in the first half, but Rose-Hulman shot 51% to take a one-point lead into the intermission. In the second half, Illinois Tech hit 13-16 free throws to prove the difference in the tightly contested game.
Other key Rose-Hulman contributors included senior Jimmy Miller and senior Mitch Williams with six points each. Senior Tyler Duffy added five points, six rebounds and four assists.
Rose-Hulman stands 5-4 on the season, while Illinois Tech improved to 2-8. The Fightin' Engineers return to action at Blackburn College on Saturday at 5 p.m. Central Time.
