TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology concludes its 2015-16 non-conference schedule with a trip to Blackburn College on Saturday at 5 p.m. Central Time.
The Fightin' Engineers stand 5-4 on the season after narrowly falling 83-78 to Illinois Tech on Thursday night. Senior Matt Loesing led the performance with a career-high 25 points.
Freshman Charlie Aimone is the reigning HCAC Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 points per game off the bench in wins over Franklin and Bluffton last week. The Fightin' Engineers return to conference play on Jan. 2 with a league mark of 2-1.
The starting lineup for Rose-Hulman has included Loesing (14.1 ppg), senior Jimmy Miller (11.6 ppg), senior Dillon Reynolds (9.6 ppg), senior Tyler Duffy (9.4 ppg) and sophomore Stephen Scheuth (7.0 ppg).
Blackburn stands 1-8 this season, but earned a key win at St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference rival Fontbonne for its lone win so far in 2015-16. Junior Chris Davis leads the Beavers in scoring average at 14.1 points per game.
After Saturday's matchup, Rose-Hulman returns to the court on Jan. 2 with a home matchup against Transylvania University at 3 p.m.
