TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's basketball team returns home to face in-state Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Franklin College on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Rose-Hulman stands 3-3 overall and 0-1 in HCAC play after falling in overtime to Mount St. Joseph on Saturday. Franklin has an 0-6 mark and is also 0-1 in league games after falling to Defiance College on Saturday.
Rose-Hulman features three starters averaging double figures in scoring. Matt Loesing leads the team at 13.5 points per contest, including career-high scoring performances in each of the team's last two games.
Jimmy Miller (12.7 ppg) and Tyler Duffy (10.3 ppg) also average double figures, and the starting lineup has included senior Dillon Reynolds (9.0 ppg) and sophomore Stephen Schueth (7.5 ppg).
Franklin searches for its first victory of the season but has lost three games by 10 points or less. Junior Aaron Mann averages a team-high 22.2 points per game to lead an attack that scores 72.3 points per contest. Trae Washington (14.2 ppg) and Robbie Prather (15.2 ppg) also average double figures for the Grizzlies.
Franklin leads the all-time series with Rose-Hulman 42-30, although the Fightin' Engineers lead 11-7 in conference play. Rose-Hulman has won the last eight meetings entering Wednesday's matchup.
After Wednesday's game, Rose-Hulman hits the road for Bluffton University and another HCAC matchup on Saturday at 3 p.m.
