HANOVER, Ind. - The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team won its third striaght Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) match with an 9-0 sweep of Hanover College on Saturday, March 28.
Sophomores Brandon Benedict and Georges Adam improved to 4-2 at first doubles on the season with an 8-2 win over Reid Clark and Nolan Carrico. Junior Matt Conrad and freshman Cam Metzger also improved to 4-2 with an 8-3 victory at second doubles. Freshman Tyler Haas and Derek Benedict completed the doubles sweep with an 8-4 victory at third doubles.
Leading 3-0, the Fightin' Engineers won all six singles flights in straight sets, surrendering no more than four games in any singles set. Brandon Benedict, Adam, and Metzger each notched victory number five on the season at first, second, and third singles respectively.
Rose-Hulman improves to 5-2 on the season including a 3-0 mark in HCAC play. The Engineers return to the court next week Tuesday, March 31, for a non-conference match against rival DePauw. The match is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.
