GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Sophomores Brandon Benedict and Georges Adam won first doubles 8-4, but DePauw University provided balanced singles play to defeat the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's tennis team 8-1 on Tuesday, March 31.
Benedict and Adam won first doubles over Chris Bertolini and Dan Rodefeld by holding serve after winning a 14-duece game in which both teams had seven game points. Freshmen Derek Benedict and Tyler Haas fell 8-3 at third doubles while junior Matt Conrad and freshman Cam Metzger lost 8-1 at second doubles.
The Tigers swept the singles flights. Adam fell 6-1, 6-4 at second singles while Metzger fell 6-4, 6-0 at third singles.
Rose-Hulman falls to 5-3 on the season and returns to action Wednesday, April 8 for a 4 p.m. match against Anderson.
