COMPLETE RESULTS
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology improved to 10-5 on the men's tennis season with an 8-1 victory over Oakland City University on Thursday night at the Joy Hulbert Tennis Center.
Rose-Hulman opened the night with three doubles wins. Sophomores Brandon Benedict and Georges Adam won at the No. 1 position, with Cam Metzger and Matt Conrad winning at No. 2, and Erin Miller teaming with Joe Kendall for a victory at the No. 3 flight.
In singles play, the freshman duo of Derek Benedict and Tyler Haas led the performance with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 spots. Kendall and Daniel Brindley won at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, with senior Ray Montgomery earning a victory at the No. 6 spot.
Rose-Hulman won its third consecutive match to move to 10-5 on the season and has clinched the No. 1 seed for the upcoming Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament. The Fightin' Engineers can win their first outright conference title in program history with a win over Transylvania in their next match on Saturday.
