COMPLETE RESULTS
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology student-athletes combined for four career-best performances in a strong effort at the Indiana University Billy Hayes Invitational on Saturday.
Sophomore Andrew Okruch highlighted the performance with a win in the shot put and a runner-up effort in the discus throw. Okruch won the shot put with a toss of 48' 4" and had a career-best discus throw of 159' 4" to capture second place.
Senior Austin Schulthies added a career-best performance in the discus throw to come home third (158' 6"). He also placed third in the javelin (173' 9").
Fellow senior Blake Schulthies tallied a career-best performance in the pole vault (15' 3") and added finishes of sixth in the javelin (153' 2") and eighth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.49). Senior Zac Erba came home ninth in the hammer throw with a toss of 162' 2".
Freshman Victoria Heckenlively paced the women's effort with a career-best 400-meter time of 1:00.96 to come home eighth overall.
Selected individuals will compete at the University of Louisville Invitational on Friday.
