LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Eight members of the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology men's track and field team represented the squad at the University of Louisville Invitational on Friday.
Senior Zac Erba led the performances with a career-best mark in the hammer throw. Erba's mark of 172' 3" ranks third in Rose-Hulman school history.
Senior Ryan Meyer came home sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:39.61, and freshman Matt Hill added an eighth in the same event in 9:54.14.
Senior Austin Schulthies and sophomore Andrew Okruch added top 10 finishes in the discus throw. Schulthies recorded a toss of 150' 1", and Okruch had a mark of 146' 10".
Three Fightin' Engineers competed in the 1,500-meter run, with two runners recording season-best marks. Senior Stuart West came home 11th with a time of 3:59.12. Sophomore Brendon Mattiuz was 12th in 3:59.49, and junior Brandon Loyer was 15th in 4:03.91.
