TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology relied on a first half goal from sophomore Eliska Saiz and a strong goaltending performance from senior Lucinda Combs to top Webster University 1-0 in women's soccer action on Sunday afternoon.
Saiz scored in the 37th minute on a pass from freshman Lauren London to give Rose-Hulman a 1-0 lead. Saiz and senior Hayley Gilliam led the offensive performance with two shots each.
Combs recorded 12 saves to tally her first shutout of the 2015 season. The senior had two leaping saves to prevent potential Webster goals.
Webster outshot Rose-Hulman 17-7 in the match, with three players recording three shots each.
Rose-Hulman improved to 1-2 on the season and hosts Greenville College on Wednesday afternoon.
