Men's Basketball Crosses 100 on Husco Night

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology placed all five starters in double figures and shot 64% from the field to defeat Anderson University 103-86 at Hulbert Arena on Wednesday night.

Junior Stephen Schueth led the scoring effort with 19 points and eight rebounds on Husco Automotive Night.  Senior Dillon Reynolds added 18 points and six assists, including the 100th point of the game that secured a free Chick-fil-A dessert to go along with a free sandwich.  

Senior Tyler Duffy added 17 points on 7-11 from the field.  Seniors Matt Loesing and Jimmy Miller also reached double figures with 12 points each.  Loesing finished 6-9 from the field, while Miller had nine rebounds and six assists.

Nathaniel Acree led the Anderson performance with 34 points.  Shelby Duncan and Micah Smith also reached double figures with 13 points each.

Other key contributors for the Fightin' Engineers included junior Gary Ulrich with seven points on a perfect 3-3 from the field; freshman Luke Callahan with seven points and four rebounds; and sophomore Kyle Steckel with five points to tie a career-high.

Rose-Hulman shot 66% from the field in the first half and 63% in the second half in a balanced performance.  The Fightin' Engineers also shot 10-18 from three-point range and crossed the 100-point mark for the first time since scoring 102 points against Blackburn in 2007.

Rose-Hulman built a 57-34 lead at the half with their hot shooting performance.  The Fightin' Engineers also led wire-to-wire for their seventh win of the year.

With the win, Rose-Hulman improved to 7-7 overall and 4-3 in conference play.  Anderson dropped to 6-8 overall and 2-5 in league games.  The Fightin' Engineers return to action at Defiance College on Saturday.
