TERRE HAUTE, Ind. -- Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology opens the second half of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference schedule with a trip to Transylvania University on Saturday at 5 p.m.
The game will now take place two hours later than the originally scheduled start time due to a snow storm that is heading toward Lexington starting tonight.
The Fightin' Engineers improved to 8-8 overall and 5-4 in league play with a 79-70 win over Earlham on Wednesday night. Freshman Luke Callahan led five players in double figures with 16 points, and sophomore JT Whitaker also had a career-high with 10 points to help Rose-Hulman top its in-state rival.
The recent starting lineup has included senior Matt Loesing (12.9 ppg), senior Jimmy Miller (11.1 ppg), senior Dillon Reynolds (10.9 ppg), senior Tyler Duffy (10.3 ppg) and sophomore Stephen Schueth (7.5 ppg). Freshman Charlie Aimone has added 9.3 points per game, with Callahan scoring 5.6.
Transylvania has a 6-10 overall record and has won four of its last five games since facing Rose-Hulman on Jan. 2. Senior Parker Stansberry (14.7 ppg) and junior Alex Jones (14.5 ppg) have led an offensive attack featuring three players in double figures.
Transylvania leads the all-time series 17-8 and holds a 15-7 edge in HCAC play. Rose-Hulman won the most recent meeting 72-63 at Hulbert Arena on Jan. 2.
After Saturday's matchup, Rose-Hulman hosts Hanover College on Wednesday night at Hulbert Arena.
